Wicked Paint Job: The Cadillac CTS-V Black Diamond Edition

The mighty Cadillac CTS-V is one high-performance ride deserving of every accolade thrown its way.  General Motor’s new take on it, called the Black Diamond Edition, takes the ante up with an impossibly gorgeous paint job.

Sporting an exclusive dark tri-coat paint from California-based JDSU, the vehicle looks worthy of being Darth Vader’s official city ride with its Overlord-matching sinister shine.   That diamond-like luster comes courtesy of the embedded SpectraFlair Bright Silver pigment, which adds aluminum flakes encased in a glass-like magnesium fluoride to the proprietary blend.

The Cadillac CTS-V Black Diamond Edition comes with a 6.2 liter 556 hp V8 engine, along with a host of performance options just like other models before it.  Standard elements include satin graphite 19-inch wheels with yellow Brembo brake calipers, 14-way adjustable Recaro seats (with French-stitched leather and microfiber suede inserts) and durable Midnight Sapele wood trim.

If you’re willing to drive around the city with a paint job that will break your heart when you find even a minute scratch, you can get the  Cadillac CTS-V Black Diamond Edition beginning this Spring, with prices starting at $69,190 for a manual transmission and $70,490 for the automatic variants.  They’ll have it in all standard CTS-V models, namely sedan, coupe and wagon.
