Casio G-Shock Bluetooth Brings Smart Functions To The Classic Timepiece

Want to get one of those watches that pick up notifications from your phone, but not a fan of the current crop of designs?  If you’re cool with the classic G-Shock look, you’ll probably like the Casio G-Shock Bluetooth Smart Watch.

Granted, it’s far from approaching the level of smart the Pebble Watch packs.  When it comes to matching with your closetful of streetwear staples, though, what else can suit better than the classic street style of Casio’s long-running line of rugged timepieces?

The G-Shock Bluetooth Smart Watch pairs with your phone (only for iPhone 5 and 4S, though) via a Bluetooth 4.0 connection.  Once paired up, your watch will receive notifications for incoming calls and messages, as well as various alerts (like when the phone is out of range).  It also features a Phone Finder feature that helps you find the handset when you can’t remember where you placed it last.

Rest of the watch is pretty standard G-Shock, from the shock resistance to the resin band to the auto-timezone updates to the water resistance.  Since it uses low-energy Bluetooth 4, it doesn’t require that much power to run, with a single button lasting the watch a good two years.

Want one?  The Casio G-Shock Bluetooth Smart Watch is now available, priced at $180.
