Child’s Own Studio Turns Children’s Drawings Into Plush Toys

Why give your kid a stuffed unicorn doll when you can give him that three eyed vampire Spongebob he’s always doodling on paper?  No, really, you can have that with Child’s Own Studio’s custom plush dolls.

The handmade softies are built to order based upon whatever far-out image your child managed to scribble on paper.  There are no guidelines for what kind of characters and figures they can bring to life, but you will have to send in the drawing for review before they’ll accept an order.

Child’s Own Studio’s gallery features a gamut of soft stuffed dolls and the drawings they were based from, so you can check that out to get an idea of what they can do. They have a good selection of finished softies that run a wide variety, from mermaids to animals to monsters to personalized throw pillows.  Oh yeah, the dolls can be made as lopsided as the drawings (a short arm here, a fifth leg there) or they can fix it up to look like a professional product.

They use hypoallergenic polyester fiber fill for the plushy stuffing, with a wide selection of fabrics for the body.  You can request special fabrics if you have some in mind.  Otherwise, they’ll use whatever will work best for the particular piece.  The dolls usually measure between 12 to 14 inches long.

Want one for that half-Batman, half-Octopus character your child drew on the wall?  Take a picture and send it in via the order form on the Child’s Own Studio website.  No word on price range, but these look like they’ll make for memorable, one-of-a-kind keepsakes.
