Gravity Weighted Blanket Will Make You Feel Like You’re Being Hugged In Bed

Like other blankets, the Gravity Blanket can provide added warmth while you lie peacefully (or snoring like a madman) in bed. Unlike them, it’s actually designed to help you sleep faster and better, making it an ideal replacement for folks with troublesome circadian rhythms.

A weighted blanket, it’s designed to provide deep pressure stimulation while you lie under the covers, making you feel like you’re being lightly-hugged by your blanket. According to its creators, this simple action helps relax the nervous system and increases both serotonin and melatonin levels, all while decreasing cortisol levels without having to pop a pill.

The Gravity Blanket measures 48 x 72 inches, so it should be large enough to cover most individuals, whether you’re sleeping in bed or napping on the couch. Unlike traditional blankets, it comes with high-density plastic poly pellets sewn on the inner shell interior to provide the weight (it should feel like a lightweight bean bag), with the removable exterior unit cut in micro plush fleece so it’s just as soft as your favorite comforters. It comes in three different weights: 15 pounds, 20 pounds, and 25 pounds, with the outfit recommending choosing one that’s around 1/10th of your own body weight.

Will it really help folks sleep? We don’t actually know, although weighted blankets have been traditionally used in hospitals to reduce anxiety and prevent crisis states with different kinds of patients, so maybe there’s something to it.
