Designed to screw into the mouth of a wine bottle, the contraption adds a bulbous-shaped opening right on the top, allowing you to drink wine off the bottle while sipping it as if you’re drinking from a glass. Yes, it’s absurd. And unnecessary. If you want to make drinking wine straight from the bottle while acting just a little more civilized, however, this thing should do the trick.
The Guzzle Buddy is, basically, a wine glass whose main vessel continues straight through the tube, with a chopped-off base and a screw-on stopper around the stem. That stopper secures the Guzzle Buddy once it’s jammed inside the bottle’s neck, so you can hold the ensemble between your thumb, forefinger, and middle finger like a proper wine glass without the bottle crashing to the floor. Truth be told, this looks like the kind of accessory that will make drinking from a bottle awkwardly complicated, but if you want to enjoy your wine with something different, we guess this thing is as novel as it gets.
