Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake: Let’s Just Call It A Superwagon

The Jaguar XFR-S does a great job of bundling speed, comfort, and style in a high-performance package.  If you’re in the market for a whip that factors family utility into the equation, however, the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake should probably be your ride of choice.

That’s right, the XFR-S now comes in sports wagon form, bringing the prodigious talents of the marquee’s most powerful sports saloon in a full-fledged family vehicle.  Seriously, calling this a sports wagon just doesn’t seem right — superwagon just sounds so much more appropriate.  And while it’s lost a bit of the aggressive edge in the conversion to a family hauler, it still packs enough to keep you the coolest dad in the parking lot at your son’s little league game (well, unless little Johnny’s dad shows up in a totally inappropriate Ferrari 458 Speciale).

The Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake runs on Coventry’s supercharged 5-liter V8 that puts out 542 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque.  Using an eight-speed automatic gearbox with Quickshift tech, it can go from 0 to 60 in just 4.6 seconds, with an electronically-limited top speed of 186 mph.  Key elements include huge intakes sitting out front, uprated suspension, an integrated rear diffuser, a modified rear suspension (to account for the extra mass in the back), electric rear differential, custom stability control settings, corner recognition, 20-inch staggered wheels, and Pirelli tires.

Inside, the cabin is upholstered in warm charcoal leather with carbon fiber accents, with an an 18-speaker Meridian premium sound system providing the musical entertainment.  It also boasts additional headroom, as well as remote-folding rear seats to clear up even more space for cargo.

Slated for availability in the UK this April, the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake will retail for £82,495.
