Okay, This Decorative, Wall-Mountable Rig Is The Coolest Drawing Robot Yet

There are plenty of display panels designed to function as electronic picture frames that you can customize by simply updating the displayed image. That’s not what the Joto is. Instead, it’s a wall-mountable drawing robot that sketches any image you choose on its wipe-clean writing surface, essentially becoming a dynamic framed illustration that you can update any time.

Just choose a new image from the companion app to trigger the device to automatically update, at which point it will erase the existing illustration and start moving its mechanical arm to sketch out a new one. Aside from displaying illustrations, the robot can also be used to leave messages and display lists, making for a truly unique display panel.

Joto measures 19.8 x 15.4 x 4.7 inches (height x width x depth), so it makes for quite a noticeable presence in any room. It uses a mechanical arm that can travel across the entire surface of the drawing panel, which holds both a refillable pen and a replaceable eraser in designated slots. Once it finished a drawing, the arm moves back down to the bottom of the frame, so you can enjoy whatever illustration, list, or joke of the day you had it put on the board in all its glory.

Features include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity, a decorative frame so it looks good on your wall, and a dock for the pen to make sure it never dries out. Do note, it will need to be plugged in the entire time, so you’ll need to mount it some place with an available outlet.

A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for Joto. You can reserve a unit for pledges starting at £165.
