Mentos And Soda Powered Rocket Geyser Car Demo Videos

Experiments with Mentos and Coke aren't anything new.  In fact, you've probably wasted at least a single afternoon recreating one that you found on YouTube.  Being trite, however, doesn't make them any less fun. This soon to be launched Soda Geyser Car by BeAmazingToys is the newest edition to the lineup of soda and Mentos toys available on the market. Looks like a lot of fun if you can get together a few buddies and big enough paved area to hold your own Coke and Mentos powered soda rocket car racing trophy championship. Enjoy the full speed and slow motion demo videos captured at Toy Fair 2011 below.

The mentos and diet coke reactions are here to haunt me again! I can’t help remembering the chaotic times my kids put me through, all in the name of experimental studies. Some uncaring lecturer told them about the amazing chemistry between two favourite children edibles – Mentos, and Diet Cola. I have forgotten the logical part of the reactions, but the results are still crystal clear in my mind. Our lawn was a mess, and so were me and my kids after the experiment was over. That said, I would have to admit that it was fun having an unadulterated water pipe bath after that. That turned out being the actual fun creator in the whole activity. Eventually, my wife was the only person in the family left fuming, apart from the coke and mentos mixture!

Steve Spangler is a niche` expert, and his niche` happens to be a rather unique one, that of creating products based on the amazing Coke + Mentos reaction. I remember reading about a Mentos Geyser Tube and a Soda Geyser Depth Charge Kit. This man is not content as yet, and the third in the list of his unique inventions is the Soda Geyser Car. This super cool toy hogged the lime lights in the coveted Toy Fair of 2011, in the New York City. Though I did not visit the exhibition myself, but I have seen many videos of the Soda Geyser Car in action, and believe you me, it is one impressive toy to have in your armoury. However, you better get your cleaning kits ready before taking a shot at this. Don’t believe me, watch the video!

I could hardly stop myself from chuckling like a child when I saw the video posted above. The Coke bottle suddenly undergoes a metamorphosis once it is fed with some Mentos, and starts emulating a magical lamp with an emanating genie, as we saw in the Arabian Nights cartoon shows. At the risk of sounding repetitive, I would say that again – this is magical stuff. There is too much scope for professional toy makers to ignore this crazy and creative idea. Obviously, this is too crude a form.

Hey, this could be an alternative to the good old champagne. I am certainly going to use a mellowed version of the experiment to wreck some serious havoc in my hostel parties. After all, who can afford champagne! Who even wants to? This is a lot fuzzier, and I was never a champagne connoisseur.

I was wondering whether all these white collared gentlemen staring in amazement at the Coke and Mentos reaction would allow such an experiment in their backyards! My word! That is some serious fuzz in there. I hope this doesn’t sound ridiculous, but has anybody ever tasted the product of this reaction? And I hope even this doesn’t sound ridiculous. Does the same reaction hold good when done with beer instead of Coke?
