Solo Stove Bonfire Lets You Build A Big Blaze With Very Little Smoke

We’re big fans of Solo Stove’s impressive fire pit, which can generate large fires using small amounts of natural fuel while producing very little smoke. So far, though, they’ve only offered compact versions of the product, forcing you to combine multiple units if you want a campfire-sized blaze. That changes with the Solo Stove Bonfire.

Measuring 14 x 19.5 inches (height x width), the new stove is big enough to create a seriously large blaze, allowing you to create a large enough fire where a big group of friends can gather around. Granted, that makes it less of an option for hikers and other campers who want to travel light, but for enjoying a fire while car camping, tailgating, or just enjoying a chilly evening in the backyard, this thing should make for a truly compelling option.

As with the smaller models, the Solo Stove Bonfire uses a clever design that pulls air through the bottom vent holes, essentially fueling the fire at the base, causing it to create a larger-than-usual flame. Vent holes near the top of the burn chamber allow preheated oxygen to fuel the flame, essentially burning the fuel a second time for a more complete combustion, producing very little smoke in the process.

It also uses regular firewood as fuel, which includes all the twigs, branches, and pine cones you can find around the campsite, so you don’t have to bother carrying propane on the trip. Other features include stainless steel construction, an integrated tray that catches loose ash, and a substantial weight of 20 pounds.

Available now, the Solo Stove Bonfire is priced at $299.99.
