Custom Batpod Selling On eBay

Custom Batpod Selling On eBay

Sure, this custom-built Batpod doesn’t look as awesome under light as the one Batman rocked on the Dark Knight movie. But it’s close enough. Plus, if you ride it in the night with a cape on your back, you probably look just as bad-ass.
A 1:1 full-scale replica of the original bike, this is a real functioning urban assault vehicle, with a working engine and everything you need to roleplay your most enduring Dark Knight fantasies. It’s being sold as a movie prop for legal reasons, with the bike chain removed. However, they will throw the chain in with the purchase, so you can hook it up and absorb all liabilities yourself. Which sounds fair, since you’re the one who wants to be Batman.

According to the seller, two months of study went into designing the Batpod, followed by over 1,000 manhours of labor. Frame and [...]

1966 Batmobile Replica On eBay, Comes With Serious Batgadgetry

1966 Batmobile Replica On eBay, Comes With Serious Batgadgetry

As sexy as the Dark Knight’s Batmobile is, there’s something about the appeal of the vintage crime-fighting ride the Caped Crusader hit Gotham streets on back in the 60s.  Even more compelling, though, is that you may have a shot at scoring one today.
Now towing the bidding line on eBay is a 1966 Batmobile replica, clad to look like the one they used on the Adam West movie from that year.  Arguably the most iconic silver screen ride from that decade, the George Barris creation undeniably set the bar for future Batman car designs.

While the original (which is still owned by Barris Inc. to this day) was based on a Lincoln Futura, this recreation was fashioned out of a 1976 Lincoln Continental.  Gotham Cruisers spared no inch, though, ably mimicking the reference Batmobile in every way imaginable.

The 1966 Batmobile replica is clad in a 1st-gen mold, with an all black [...]

Real-Life Batmobile Replica Shows Up In Sweden, Totes Built-In Machine Gun

Got a million dollars and 20,000 hours to spare?  Put those resources to good use and create your own Batmobile, like this industrious Swedish guy did.
Built on a 1973 Lincoln Continental chassis over the course of three and a half years, the reproduction superhero ride looks exactly like Batman’s  supercar in the movies.  Heck, it’s better than the film version, because this one actually packs a working engine, cranking out power to the tune of 700 horses (or bats, whichever the case may be).

While the Batmobile replica doesn’t pack super-tech, it fits in a good load of gadgetry all the same.  It comes with height-adjustable bodywork, voice recognition technology, rear-view cameras, satellite navigation, a DVD player and a plasma TV (hey, even Batman needs to catch up on episodes of Desperate Housewives, too).  For crime-busting purposes, the Swedish creator claims he tacked on machine-gun rifles, as well (whether it shoots [...]
