Vans Leather Era Wingtip Skate Shoes Look Like Oxfords, Sounds Like A Hoot

Wingtips look mighty dapper.  But we doubt full broque dress shoes will look well with the rest of your skateboarder ensemble.  With the Vans Leather Era Wingtip, you can have both — comfy street sneakers stylishly decked with a leather-clad wingtip upper.

The latest drop in the classic Vans Era line of low top wingtips,  this version comes dressed in a two-tone mix of white and black leather that look like dancing shoes straight out of the 1950s.  Well, you can dance in them, too, although the sticky waffle-grip soles mean it should be a heck of a lot more comfortable doing other things in them as well.

The Vans Leather Era Wingtip comes with fine-looking wingtip detailing, complete with serrations and perforations along the leather uppers’ visible edges .   It features waxed and corded laces, contoured foot bed for extra support, a vulcanized rubber midsole and a padded collar with leather lining.

While it’s not the first time Vans outed a leather version of their Wingtip design, this latest variation uses a smoother fine leather material that makes it look a lot more faithful to the classic oxfords of old.  Sure, you won’t mistake it for your dad’s tap-dancing shoes hiding in the attic, but it sure makes for a unique-looking pair of kicks.

Available as a web exclusive, the Vans Leather Era Wingtip is now on sale, priced at $60.
