It looks like a mini-turntable for playing 7-inch records, but that’s absolutely not what the XGIMI Z4 Aurora is designed to do. Instead, this tabletop contraption is a smart LED projector that delivers some serious power for such a small device.

How much power? For starters, it can project screens up to 300 inches in size, with a quality that the company claims is unparalleled in both brightness and clarity. It displays images at a resolution of 1280 x 800, so it’s not exactly HD, but it does condense 1080p, 2K, and 4K content with a satisfying amount of pixel density.

The XGIMI Z4 Aurora uses a 0.45-inch Texas Instruments DMD DLP, which can handle 3D as well as it displays regular video, so you can use it to enjoy dizzying stereoscopic content that makes you want to throw up every night before going to bed. It uses OSRAM LED illumination that produces 700 lumens of brightness, with both horizontal and vertical keystone alignment, so you can position the projector at any angle without affecting what you’re watching. Since it’s hard to enjoy movies and TV shows with tinny sound, it comes with integrated Harman Kardon stereo speakers, ensuring there’s no need to use any additional speakers in the house.

Beyond serving projector duties, the device also comes with Android built in, allowing you to install apps and play content without having to hook it up to any other devices. Of course, external content sources are supported, too, via standard HDMI, USB, and AV ports. It comes with a dedicated remote.

An Indiegogo campaign is currently running for the XGIMI Aurora. Pledges to reserve a unit starts at $449.
