There’s no shortage of options when you want to install motion detectors around the house. In fact, you’re more likely to be overwhelmed by the amount of choices. If ease of installation is a chief priority, though, you’re definitely going to want to look at the new Z-Wave Motion Sensor from D-Link.

Designed for dead simple set up, you simply mount it to any area you want, configure it in the accompanying app, and you’re done. A built-in 1,500 mAh battery that can last for two years makes it unnecessary to run any wires or swap batteries regularly, making it as set and forget an experience as you can ask for.

The Z-Wave Motion Sensor can detect any movement up to 32 feet from its mounting spot, so you can easily cover the entire house with just a few. While it’s not exactly stylish, a compact, capsule-like design should help it stay out of sight (especially if you place it creatively), so you don’t need to worry about it messing up the décor you’ve worked so hard on for the past year. Aside from the motion sensors, it comes with a temperature monitor and a light sensor, so you can use to keep tabs of more things going on at home. Do note, it requires D-Link’s Connected Home Hub to properly integrate with your smart home and security system, so you’ll probably have to consider carefully if you’re already invested in a different system.
