3M Streaming Projector Brings Roku To Your Walls

You got one of those Roku Streaming Sticks and think it’s the awesomest thing ever, giving your erstwhile boring TV a whole new world of content at its disposal.  Well, it gets even better with the 3M Streaming Projector, which pairs with Roku’s stick to let you beam that same content on any wall in the house.

Measuring just 4.3 x 4.2 x 2 inches, the projector is designed for portability, able to fit literally in one hand or one slightly large pocket.  That way, you can watch Vimeo videos in the bedroom wall, then watch Hulu while eating in the kitchen, and then hang out in the backyard at night enjoying TV shows on Crackle while trying to catch sleep.

While WVGA resolution doesn’t exactly make the 3M Streaming Projector’s output cinema-quality, this isn’t for hardcore videophiles anyway.  Instead, this is for the guys who value being able to watch whatever they want on any surface they want wherever they are in the house without resorting to that tiny 4-inch display on your smartphone.  It can project Roku’s lineup of 600+ channels in 120-inch images across any smooth wall or surface of your choosing, with 60 lumens of brightness to ensure the viewing experience should be, at least, enjoyable.

Aside from having an MHL port for the stick, the projector also comes with built-in speakers, as well as a 3.5-mm port in case you want to use a separate box for audio.  Onboard battery can hold a charge enough to last 2 hours and 45 minutes, so you can easily squeeze in a movie and a TV show episode before requiring a boost of juice.

The 3M Streaming Projector will begin shipping as an Amazon exclusive in November, priced at $299.
