If you’re going to call your multi-tool the Barbarian, then it darn well better be barbaric. And while this multi-function bar tool isn’t exactly what we imagined (it doesn’t have a spiked club or a metal ball attached to a chain), we guess it looks unruly enough to teeter along the barbaric line as far as mixology tools are concerned.
An all-in-one bar tool, it reinforces an erstwhile citrus press with eight additional tools, each of which is meant to serve a specific bartending function. Unfortunately, entertaining drunk guests for tips isn’t part of the tool’s capabilities, so you’re still stuck having to do that all on your own.
The Barbarian Bar Tool actually comes with a full-sized citrus press for making quick work of limes, lemons, and oranges, which is why it’s a little bigger than your typical multi-tool. Suffice to say, this won’t fit in your pants’ front pocket. Along the handle, you get a retractable corkscrew and lever for popping wine bottles open, as well as a retractable bottle opener for your sodas and beers. A jigger allows you to accurately measure spirits and other liquid ingredients (5oz, 1.5oz, and 1oz), while a can lance lets you puncture tin cans for pouring out juices.
Other tools include a zester, a channel knife, a citrus knife, and an inch-wide knife for various slicing, prying, and cutting duties. The whole thing is made of solid metal, too, so this should last you through many uses.
