Spread Butter Quicker Than Ever With The Biem Butter Sprayer

We’ve seen many creative ways of spreading butter on your toast, corn, and butter, from body-heated knives to ribbon-making mills. The Biem Butter Sprayer, though, just might be my favorite, as it melts that erstwhile stick of butter into a sprayable delight.

Instead of waiting for the hot toast or the freshly-cooked pancakes to melt that butter, you apply it to your food items already melted. That way, you can just spray it and eat your darn food, with no dead time in between. You can do it straight off the fridge, too, making for one truly convenient tool.

To use, simply drop a stick of butter inside the Biem Butter Sprayer and store in the fridge like you do with a butter dish. An integrated accelerometer allows the device to detect when it’s being picked up, prompting it to switch on the heating element to a temperature of 95 degrees Fahrenheit – just enough heat to melt it without burning. It only melts a small amount of butter at a time to ensure minimal waste, too, which it dispenses through a nozzle via an air pump mechanism, so there are no chemical or artificial propellants that can affect the way the butter tastes.

Features include a silicone exterior that’s cool to the touch, a rechargeable battery that can last anywhere from one to six weeks (depends on how often people use butter in the household), and a cleaning mode that automatically runs when you fill it with water (the unit basically heats up the water to 155 degrees, so no brushing is required). It measures 2.4 x 10 inches (diameter x height).

A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the Biem Butter Sprayer. Pledges to reserve a unit is priced at $99.
