We’re big fans of Bose’s SoundLink line of portable speakers: they do make for some of the best-sounding options in the market today. For the latest addition to the line, Bose decided to forego simply making incremental improvements, opting to create entirely new devices from scratch. The Bose SoundLink Revolve+ is the result.

Billed as their “best-performing portable speaker ever,” the unit has been designed from the ground up to deliver true 360-degree sound. That means, it’s spitting the exact same sound in every direction, ensuring everywhere around it is a perfect listening sweet spot.

The Bose SoundLink Revolve+ comes in a cylindrical enclosure measuring 7.25 x 4 inches (height x diameter) that’s cut in a single piece of aluminum. Inside, it has a high-efficiency transducer for producing full range sound, dual passive radiators with deep lows with no vibrations, a pressure trap to eliminate distortion, and an acoustic deflector for omnidirectional sound distribution. Bose claims this produces music that’s spacious and clear, all while being remarkably loud whenever you need it. And, yes, it can connect with any SoundLink speakers either for boosting the volume or playing in a stereo setup.

Features include a flexible fabric handle for easily bringing around, a water-resistant and drop-resistant enclosure, and a battery rated at 16 hours of operation. And, yes, it can also serve as a speakerphone, apart from allowing you to access Siri and Google Voice on your phone directly from the speaker.

Available now, the Bose SoundLink Revolve+ is priced at $299.95.
