Camera Armor Gives Your DSLR A Durable, Rubber Skin

Every portable gadget deserves a mighty armor to keep it out of harm’s way.  You’ve probably got one for your iPad and your smartphone, so why not get one for that pricey DSLR you’re always swinging about during your travels?  The Camera Armor does just that.

Available for most Nikon and Canon cameras (along with a few models from other brands), the durable skin wraps around your precious snapper, keeping all sorts of nicks, marks and scratches away.  Each one is designed specifically for one model, too, ensuring a snug and custom fit.

The Camera Armor’s main component is a specially-engineered elastomeric silicone skin called the Body Armor, which covers the entirety of the camera’s shell while allowing full access to its controls.  Not only will it absorb erstwhile damaging and dirtying contact, the material is heat stable to 420-degrees Fahrenheit and will retain its shape even over time, too.

Aside from the skin, the complete camera solution also includes a transparent polycarbonate screen cover (LCD Shield), a durable ring to shield the optics from impact (Lens Armor) and a leash for helping you carry your lens (Lens Cap Lanyard).  Granted, your DSLR only looks half as awesome with the protective condom in tow, but it’s a worthy trade for some serious peace of mind.

Priced at $40, the Camera Armor offers one of the best add-ons for any camera.  If you’re clumsy like me, that’s probably an expense that will easily pay for itself in no time at all.
