There are plenty reasons to want to set up a soundproof space in your house. Maybe you want to record music without having to rent studio time. Perhaps, you need a place to do karaoke without annoying the neighbors. Or maybe you just want a private space to scream your lungs out in a moment of frustration. Whichever the case, the Danbocchi lets you set one up without having to do any home renovations.

A soundproof cardboard box sized to fit a single person inside, it gives you a place to make all the noise you want without waking up the baby, annoying the roommate, or prompting the neighbors to file a noise complaint. And, yes, the soundproofing works both ways, so you can climb inside for some peace and quiet when the rest of the house gets too loud, too.

The Danbocchi comes in two sizes: the original (3.6 x 3.6 x 5.4 feet) and a new tall version (2.6 x 3.6 x 6.9 feet), so even NBA players can stand upright inside (well, most of them anyway).  Each one is made entirely from cardboard and ships flat-packed, so you’ll have to do some assembly to set everything up. Features include a large lockable door, a ventilation shaft (so you won’t suffocate), a table, and a passthrough cable port, giving you everything you need to set up a computer and other electronics inside.

While the Danbocchi will save you from home renovations, the price will likely make you want to renovate instead, as the darn thing retails starting at $1,471.
