The most annoying thing about frozen pizzas is that the toppings are always out of place. You’ll get three pepperonis stacked on this end, bell peppers falling off the sides, or all the chicken somehow migrated on one side of the pie. It’s annoying. Since they’re going to make you work to fix that pizza anyway, someone made the DiGiorno Design a Pizza Kit, a frozen pizza where you’ll have to put all toppings by yourself.
Instead of a frozen pizza with misplaced toppings, you get a frozen pizza and separately packaged toppings that you can unpack for arranging on top of the pie. Whether you want all the toppings evenly distributed, all the pepperoni concentrated on one slice, or half of the pizza with no onions because your daughter is afraid onions will give her bad breath, it’s all in your control. Awesome.
Each DiGiorno Design a Pizza Kit comes with a full-size cheese pizza with individually wrapped meats, shredded cheese, spices, and seasonings. Three flavors are available: Pepperoni and Sausage with Peppers & Onions; Spinach, Tomato & Red Onion with Pepperoni; and Chicken, Green Peppers & Red Onions with Pepperoni. We have no idea how it tastes, but everyone knows all pizza is good pizza so it’s going to be delicious. Or, at least, tolerable.
Bonus: it’s going to be fun to let your kids loose on these, designing their own creative-looking pizzas to their heart’s content. The pizzas should bake in just 20 minutes (or four minutes, if you use one of those baking steel plates).
The DiGiorno Design a Pizza Kit is available now, priced between $6.79 and $8.99, depending on flavor.
