FrankOne Can Make Cold Brew Coffee In Mere Minutes

Cold brew coffee is great, giving you a chilled, caffeinated drink that tastes fuller with less acidity than traditional iced coffee. Simply put, it’s a great way to get your caffeine fix, especially during the warmer days of the year. Like many types of coffee, it’s quite expensive to get in stores, which is why many people brew their own at home. Problem is, the darn thing takes time, requiring anywhere from 12 to 24 hours before it’s ready to enjoy. FrankOne changes that.

Instead of taking hours like traditional cold brewers, the device allows you to make a strong yet smooth cup of cold brew coffee in as little as one minute. Seriously. That means, there’s no need to prepare your cold brew half a day in advance, allowing you to enjoy a cup any time you feel like it, just like regular hot coffee.

FrankOne is a battery-powered device that’s designed to be placed on top of a pitcher (if you’re making multiple cups) or a drinking vessel (if you’re making a single-serve drink), although it also comes with its own carafe, in case you don’t have any special quirks about using your own containers. To use, simply place it on top of the container, place your ground coffee on the device’s main chamber, pour hot water, and put the lid on. After thirty seconds of letting the coffee steep in water, press the button on top of the device to get the magic going.

By magic, of course, we’re referring to the outfit’s patented Vacuum Extraction Technology, which uses negative pressure to force water through a bed of ground coffee, extracting more of the flavor the coffee has to offer within a short amount of time. This allows it to concoct a delicious cold brew within a matter of minutes (the outfit claims, it can reach “gold cup standard” with just 30 seconds of brewing), all while working with any grind size, from very fine to very coarse, giving you a whole lot of room in experimenting with the resulting cold brew. That means, you can vary the amount of water, the amount of coffee, the type of grind size, and the brewing duration to find just the right combination that suits your taste.

Aside from working very fast, FrankOne also removes a lot of the bitterness that typically comes with coffee. How? By integrating a mechanism that prevents the crema that rises to the top of the brew from dripping down into your container, since, as it turns out, much of the bitter taste in coffee comes from that brownish foam. So yeah, this isn’t just faster, it should also taste a whole lot better than regular cold brew that doesn’t filter out the crema. Other features include a rechargeable battery (rated at 150 cups between charges), waterproof construction (so you can clean it without any worries), an integrated metal mesh (no need to use disposable filters), and a borosilicate glass carafe with a silicone base.
