We’re big fans of products like the Luminoodle, which puts a bunch of LEDs on a long rope for versatile lighting applications. The Ilumi Smartstrip does the same thing, except with multi-color LEDs, allowing you to use it not just to illuminate spaces around the house, but add mood lighting anywhere you want them.
Instead of a rope, the new lighting solution lines up the LEDs on a flat strip of band that measures 6.6 feet long. You can hang it on trees, hooks, and beams, too, for instant temporary lighting, although the band comes with an adhesive back that you can use to stick it semi-permanently on flat surfaces.
Even better, you don’t have to use the entire length of the Ilumi Smartstrip, as it can be cut at 12-inch intervals, with each portion remaining perfectly functional. Each portion, of course, will need to be powered separately from a wall outlet using the outfit’s adapters. Need something longer? Not a problem, as it supports connecting multiple strips up to 33 feet, the entire length of which can be powered from a single wall outlet.
It comes with RGB+W LEDs, so you can use it both for colorful mood lighting and regular illumination. Features include a density of 60 LEDs per strip, IP65 water-resistance for outdoor use, and an accompanying app that allows you to control a whole load of things, from color and brightness to schedules and effects.
