It was 2017 when LEGO introduced the UCS Millenium Falcon, the first of what would become a series of oversized models depicting vehicles from the Star Wars universe, which included iconic sets such as a massive AT-AT, a Republic Gunship, and an Imperial Star Destroyer. There’s been a number of these models since then and the outfit is adding another one in the form of the LEGO Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser.
A massive and detailed model of the Clone Wars staple, the starship recreates the famed Jedi cruiser in giga-sized form, allowing you to add one of the largest capital ships ever made to your collection. And yes, it’s every bit as massive as the ship that inspired it, taking up a copious chunk of any shelf or table you put it in.
The LEGO Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser faithfully reproduces the Galactic Republic’s daunting attack cruiser, which was heavily employed for space combat, military transport, and even moving smaller starships across space throughout the period. Yes, this is the Galactic Republic version of the ship, as the Imperial one ditches the red stripe down the middle in favor of their preferred dull gray aesthetic. According to LEGO, they purposely made it massive to project the might and presence of this class of attack ships, which, later in the Empire’s reign, will be retired in favor of the more popular Imperial Star Destroyer (yes, it’s why they have a bit of a resemblance).
Because of the size, they were able to fit in good load of details on the model, recreating most every line, curve, and angle from the original vessel. LEGO doesn’t list all the individual features they recreated for the set, but based on the photos, it looks like it’s, at least, got the turbo laser cannons onboard, along with some intimidating propulsion systems around the rear, although none of them are movable. According to the outfit, there’s also a command bridge and a hangar, so there should be some accessible interior systems, too, as well as a small Republic Gunship flying out of a side bay.
The LEGO Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser measures 43 x 12.5 x 21 inches (length x height x width), so this thing is over 3.5 feet long, making it an incredible display piece if you ever have the actual room to display it. Seriously, you’ll have to clear some room to accommodate this thing. It comes with 5,374 pieces, so this will make for a serious time sink that will lock you up in the house for many hours, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on what you’re trying to do with your life. Like all the Ultimate Collectors Series pieces, this is designed for display rather than playing, so it comes with a built-in display stand and information plaque. They also threw in two minifigures, namely Captain Rex and Admiral Yuralen.
