It is never going to be easy for a company like Loot Crate to make everyone happy with every monthly box because sometimes, you will get items that you just don’t relate to. Whats frustrating about curated toy and collectible packages is that, sometimes, you get an entire box full of nothing but fillers – silly trinkets, meh badges, and other items you’d probably re-gift instead of keeping in your collection. Fortunately, the August 2015 Loot Crate (Villains 2) is the total opposite, packed with just a few items, each of which makes our geek heart skip a beat. Seriously, it comes with just four items and every single one a legit collectible.
First up is one of Marvel’s massive Molded Mugs. We got the one with Venom in it, although some crates, apparently, come with a Carnage mug instead. We actually don’t know which of those two is uglier, but our Venom mug is definitely horrifying. I mean, taking a sip in this is like having a nightmare to go with your coffee.
A big surprise for this crate is the official Breaking Bad Los Pollos Hermanos apron, similar to the one Gus Fring wears any time he goes into the kitchen of his fast food joint. Yes, it’s a real apron, so you can wear it while cooking, grilling, or working in the workshop. Also, whenever you want to feel like a polite, hardworking gentleman who happens to be a ruthless criminal with a lucrative meth operation on the side.
Third up is a Hydra Pin from the Captain America collection. It’s exactly the same size and uses the same material as the props in the movies, so you can wear this on your lapel and strut around like a legit Hydra agent.
Next is a DC Collectibles Wooden Figure starring the Joker. This one’s, basically, like one of those old wooden toy figures, with exaggerated proportions that make the Clown Prince of Crime look like a hulking behemoth. It comes with two swappable heads and holes in its hands, so you can make it hold any equivalently-sized weapon (doesn’t come with any on the box, though). Just to complete the Joker love, the entire August 2015 Loot Crate box comes with inside art that looks like a depiction of Joker’s headquarters. Pretty cool.
