Yes, there’s a good amount of options when it comes to pens that can digitize everything you write down. If you prefer your stationery and writing instruments with a luxury pedigree, however, Montblanc’s Augmented Paper will probably suit your style a whole lot better.

A pen and notebook combo, it’s fitted with the necessary tech to digitize everything you jot down on the notebook, which can be synced on the fly with the accompanying smartphone app. Whether you’re brainstorming ideas for a project, jotting down notes during a lecture, or sketching a horrible tattoo design you want to put on your back, this thing will automatically create a digital version of whatever you put together.

As with similar solutions, the Montblanc Augmented Paper comes with a coded notebook, allowing the pen to sense its position at all times while you scribble on the page. While it’s designed to sync with the app in real time, the pen also comes with onboard storage, where it can store up to 100 pages of content if you don’t have a phone nearby. It uses a modified version of Montblanc’s fancy Starwalker pen, by the way, making for quite the premium writing tool, with the notebook covered in fancy black Italian leather.

Features include “best-in-class handwriting recognition” in 12 languages, a battery rated at eight hours of operation, and beautiful styling that makes everything look like a regular note-taking combo (seriously, none of the bulbous tip you see in other digitizing pens). Each set comes with three ink refills and a charging cable.
