NBA Legends Socks: So Ugly Yet So Beautiful

A trip to your local Wal-Mart is always a good opportunity to enjoy a selection of ugly socks.  So far, though, few I’ve seen run way uglier than these NBA Legends Socks.

And, no, we’re not hating on these basketball-themed hosiery.  In fact, I’m salivating at the prospect of wearing these things with my Lebron X the next time I hit the local courts.  Man, my swag will be legendary.  Watch out ladies, I’m stealing your boyfriends. Wait, what did I just say?

The biggest surprise: these NBA Legends Socks are, apparently, official NBA merchandise.  Even if they were whipped up by some backwoods sweat shop (or a couple of slackers in mom’s basement), though, I’ll still love them.  Each one comes with a photographic print of an NBA superstar from back in the day doing what they do best, with stripes of the corresponding player’s team color.  Nine designs are available: Dennis Rodman grabbing a board, Julius Erving doing his Dr. J dunking showcase, Hakeem Olajuwon being the best big man in the game, James Worthy doing his sweet finger roll, Larry Bird being a tall white dude with the sweetest touch, Patrick Ewing looking handsome as ever, Bill Walton wearing his lumberjack look, Kenny Smith fading away, and Utah’s legacy one-two punch doing their Stockton-to-Malone dance.

Made by Stance Socks, the foot undergarments are made from a mix of combed cotton, polyester and spandex.  It features a seamless toe closure, elastic arch support, Y-gore seam, and a deep heel pocket.

The NBA Legends Socks are available straight from Stance Socks’ online store, priced at $16.
