Roborock S7 Max Ultra Vacuums And Mops Your Floors, Then Cleans And Refills Itself For The Next Run

Robo-vacuums are great, allowing you to keep your floors clean without doing any actual work. And they keep getting better. The new Roborock S7 Max Ultra, for instance, doesn’t just combine both vacuum and mop functions in a single device, it also greatly minimizes maintenance, ensuring you’ll rarely have to deal with your robot cleaner after the initial setup.

Billed as a robo-vacuum “for those who don’t compromise,” the device pairs its versatile cleaning abilities with most of the advanced automation features found in the outfit’s flagship S8 series, so you get topnotch performance at a slightly more affordable price. Seriously, with the amount of automation here, you likely won’t need to attend to your robot vacuum for months at a time, so your house just feels magically clean with minimum work on your part.

The Roborock S7 Max Ultra is equipped with a suction motor that delivers 5,500Pa of suction power, ensuring it siphons up all manners of dirt, dust, and messes off floors and carpets with no difficulty. Of course, it pulls double duty as a mop and employs the outfit’s VibraRise Mopping system, which automatically lifts the mop when it detects carpeted surfaces and lowers it on surfaces that require mopping, where it vigorously scrubs at a rate of 3,000 times per minute. That means, you don’t need to swap in cleaning heads at any point, as the device can separately vacuum, separately mop, or do both at the same time.

It’s equipped with all the usual sensors and navigation smarts as modern robo-vacuums, allowing it to make its way precisely around your home. This can be done with manual help via 3D mapping or you can leave it completely to the automaton, which will use its LiDar and other sensors to make a quick map during its first run around the house, complete with the ability to store maps for up to four different floors of the house. It’s also fitted with Reactive Tech Obstacle Avoidance, which allows it to identify and avoid any obstacles when cleaning, then adapting its cleaning route based on the obstacles it finds.

The Roborock S7 Max Ultra comes with the outfit’s RockDock Ultra, a smart charging dock that can perform a plethora of maintenance features on its own to ensure the robo-vac stays in tip-top shape. According to the outfit, it can empty the vacuum’s dust tank, wash the mop brush, refill the robot’s mop reservoir, and make sure everything is dried off. Naturally, it will charge your vacuum, too, while it waits for its next cleaning schedule.

The cleaning robot is equipped with a 5,200 mAh battery that’s rated for three hours of cleaning time, so this should be able to vacuum and mop through most houses in one go. Other features include a large 200ml water tank, a durable all-rubber brush, voice command support, scratch-safe wheels, a child-lock, and a companion app where you can set schedules and prompt the robot to clean on demand.

The Roborock S7 Max Ultra comes out June 11, priced at $1,300.
