Sable Flow Secret Whiteboard Hides A Dry-Erase Writing Surface Behind A Wall Frame

Having a whiteboard at home is nice, as you can leave messages, work out your thoughts in writing, and even put down reminders for later. Problem is, whiteboards filled with scribbles and sketches just aren’t the kind of things that look good in any part of a home, whether it be the living room, the kitchen, or the hall leading to the bedroom. The Sable Flow Secret Whiteboard changes that.

Designed to be hidden behind a frame, it gives you a whiteboard that you can open when needed, all while looking like any framed print, art, or poster the rest of the time. That way, you get all the benefits of a whiteboard that you can scribble your thoughts on without making your space look like a meeting room at a downtown office.

The Sable Flow Secret Whiteboard looks like any wall frame – you know, the kind you’ll use to show off that art print you ordered online or a beloved memorabilia you got from a live event. It has a portrait profile, so it should work well with plenty of prints, posters, and photos, allowing you to disguise your whiteboard into practically anything you like. Unlike a standard frame, though, it’s connected to a layer underneath using strong magnets, allowing you to open it like a book to reveal the whiteboard on the bottom layer. Even better, the reverse side of the frame is a whiteboard, too, so you end up with a dry-erase writing surface that’s twice the size of the frame.

The whiteboard surface is slightly recessed on both sides, by the way, so you should be able to leave some markers, erasers, and magnets in there. Do note, it’s not recessed very deep, so we doubt it will fit those thick Sharpies, although it can probably accommodate slimmer writing instruments and tools.

The Sable Flow Secret Whiteboard comes in three sizes: small (14.5 x 20.75 inches), medium (20.5 x 26.5 inches), and large (22.5 x 32.5 inches), with double that size for the dry-erase surface on each one, so you get plenty of writing area to do your thing. According to the outfit, the small can fit prints up to 12 x 18 inches, the medium 18 x 24 inches, and the large 20 x 30 inches, so you can get just the right size to show off whatever you want to put on display. Each one, by the way, uses magnets to ensure it won’t open accidentally, requiring you to pry it with a bit of force to snap off the magnetic connection when opening. That means, guests aren’t likely to discover your secret writing surface, unless they have the interminable curiosity of an endlessly prying spy. Or something.

It comes with all the hardware needed to mount it up the wall, although you will have to bust out the drill and driver to actually put it up. Once that’s done, however, you’ve got yourself a nice-looking frame to show off whatever you want to decorate your wall, all while gaining a generously-sized whiteboard anywhere in your home. It comes with either white or black frames.

A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the Sable Flow Secret Whiteboard. You can reserve a unit for pledges starting at $109.
