It looks more like a scarf than a pillow. The Trtl Pillow Plus, though, is every bit the travel pillow it purports to be, with a unique design that allows you to adjust it in ways competing products simply can’t.
Like other travel pillows, the product is designed to wear around your neck, allowing you to nod off in comfort, so you can wake up from your nap without any pain on your neck. Unlike them, it’s height-adjustable, allowing you to tailor it to the exact length of your neck, ensuring it makes a flush fit among short and tall people alike.
The Trtl Pillow Plus is a wraparound neck pillow that’s equipped with an internal neck support that expands and contracts to enable the unique vertical adjustment. Simply turn the toggles on the side to make it taller or shorter, with each of the toggles adjusting different sections of the support, so it can be shorter near your chin and taller behind the shoulder, or vice versa, allowing you to customize it to how you like to sleep during travel. According to the outfit, it has 80 possible adjustment combinations, making it possible to tailor the fit to anyone’s exacting specifications. That same semi-rigid internal support, by the way, keeps your neck and head in an ergonomic position the entire time, allowing it to minimize the muscle strain on your neck, no matter how long you’ve been stuck in that chair.
A breathable fabric shell allows air to circulate freely to and from your neck, so you won’t end up covered in sweat after nodding off for an hour, while plush foam padding and soft microfleece lining provides premium comfort throughout your slumber, whether you’re sleeping through a six-hour flight or napping in the train ride back home. Both the internal structure and foam padding can be positioned on either the front, left, or right sides of the neck, so you can nod off towards whichever direction feels most comfortable.
Dimensions of the Trtl Pillow Plus are 27.5 x 7.5 inches (length x height), although the actual foam pillow section takes up just a third of the length, allowing this to fold up in a more compact manner than conventional travel pillows. Construction is a mix of polyester, rayon, and spandex, with different sections getting different blends of the fabrics, which makes quite the statement about how meticulously and precisely this thing was designed.
Each neck pillow comes with a travel bag that you can clip to a strap on your luggage or backpack (it has a built-in carabiner), making it easy to bring along every time you leave the house. The bag is water-resistant, by the way, so you can keep it outside your main bag without having to worry a drizzle will leave your travel pillow drenched. It’s also machine-washable, so you can simply throw it in with the rest of the laundry to clean it after every use.
Originally a Kickstarter project, the Trtl Pillow Plus is available now.
