When I started seeing products for people who used iPads to read recipes in the kitchen while cooking, I thought it was a joke. Turns out, a lot of folks really do that. At first glance, it looks just like a regular knife block for holding all your bladed cutting implements. On the opposite side of where the knives sit, though, is a built-in shelf sized to hold a tablet in a convenient position. The Victorinox Knife Block is made from wood and measures 4.5 x 10.75 x 8.25 inches. It can hold up to 13 knives, with designated slots for a paring knife, a utility knife, a santoku, a chef’s knife, a slicer, a honing steel, kitchen shears and six steak knives. Since you’ll need it facing one side to access the knives and the other side to access your tablet, it comes with a swiveling base that makes switching from one to the other easy. It comes in two wood finishes: dark and natural.
