Teddy Bear Guns – Now Even A Pacifist Can Pack Heat
There is apparently a tradition at Japanese weddings in which small pink teddy bears are thrown at the bride and groom instead of confetti or rice.
The Japanese, being the guys who brought the world Godzilla and Mothra , decided that was well ..lame. What on earth can be fun about throwing a little pink stuffed toy? Better idea, fire them out of a gun. Now that’s more like it (ask any seven year old boy.)
Unfortunately for the aforementioned boys the teddies once fired , albeit at high velocity, have tiny teddy parachutes strapped to their backs to ensure they land safely. After all, a teddy bear massacre just might put a damper on any well planned nuptial ceremony (unless it’s one of those very sensible ceremonies from which small children are barred, in which case it could be a whole lot of fun.)
But why stop at weddings? What better way [...]
River Surfing At Habitat 67 In Montreal
Surfing is one the greatest sports ever. Only surfers can understand what they get out of paddling out into the shark infested waters and catching waves. These waves don’t even have to be big, just surfable. We as surfers cannot even imagine planning our vacations in landlocked areas. (disclaimer: I am a surfer and love it).
But imagine surfing next to an apartment complex in Montreal. You say impossible, I say Surf’s Up. This actually is perpetual view along Habitat 67, where a crowd of surfers regularly catch standing waves along the St. Lawrence River.
River surfing is, apparently, a growing sport among river towns in places like Colorado, Ontario, Alberta and, as pictured, Montreal. According to enthusiasts, it fosters “exactly the same feel as on an ocean wave,” except that you carve along the water (which pitches back and upward) going back and forth.
To catch the standing currents, surfers either paddle [...]
Bandai Micro Water Pets: Creepy Robot Tamagotchis That Swim
Want a toy that you can drop in the toilet to make whoever looks down there scream in horror? The same guys that brought us classic virtual pets like the Tamagotchi and Digimon just came out with a new set of critters and they swim like creatures of the sea. Released under the Micro Pets line, they bring the perfect dose of cute and creepy, along with some nifty underwater talents.
Designed to look cute in a strange-sea-creature sort of way, the toys are made from ABS plastic, with thin strips of tentacles. There are three water creatures to choose from – a white jellyfish, a blue squid and a red octopus. Of course, they all look the same, save for the different set of eyes (along with a special nose for the octopus). Intended for placement in water bottles, the critters will swim up and down all on their own, [...]
The Tooth Fairy Gets Audited Too!
As parents we know that occasionally we have to lie to our kids. We tell them that they shouldn’t talk to strangers, but that a fat guy in a red suit breaks into their house each year via the chimney, and eats cookies and drinks milk before leaving. We also tell them that the baskets that they find every year, were brought by a six-foot talking bunny. Oddest of all, we lead them to believe that there is an organization run by one solitary fairy, that collects their teeth and pays them a pittance of twenty-five cents for it. Grotesque! We know that we lie to our children…but we also know that it’s just so much fun we can’t bear to stop.
In that spirit we introduce the official tooth fairy kit, a set of documents that will fool your kids into thinking that there really is a strange fairy in [...]
Take The Food, Leave The Dishes With Biodegradable Picnic Ware
Invariably, when you go on a picnic or camping trip something gets left behind. We’re not sure if Sasquatch needed a microwave safe bowl and couldn’t risk his reputation as a myth to go into Fred Meyer and get one, or if the dish in question got carried off by ants who made it their queen and gathered little bits of food to put in it, but we do know that the guilt we feel when we get home and realize that were missing dishes and that we just contributed to the pollution of the world is real and heartfelt.
In that spirit, we recommend this set of biodegradable dishes that you can take on all of your food outings. This set is made from Cassava, a perennial tropical plant that is used to make Tapioca. This awesome herb is completely biodegradable! Each set has 4 Bowls, 4 Plates, 4 Cups, [...]
Summer Grubbin’
Ahhh…summer. Those barbecues out in the yard, the time spent in the lake swimming with the fishes, and the picnics on the grass. What? Picnics aren’t one of your favorite summer memories? That’s because you need the Outdoor Meal Kit whenever you picnic.
Before the invention of this kit, you were only presented with two options. You could get some paper plates and bowls and use them, in danger every minute a stray breeze blowing them across the park into the dolphin fountain, not to mention the way the plates get soggy when you put some baked beans on them. Your other option involved lugging 77 pounds of dishes where ever you wanted to picnic. With neither option desirable to most, the Outdoor Meal Kit was invented.
This kit is ridiculously compact, being an all in one dish and cutlery set that contains all of the dishes and utensils you’ll need for [...]
Finally…Ice Trays That Don’t Spill The Ice!
Designed by heavy duty thinkers that have – for years – labored over the idea that Ice Cubes didn’t have to spill all over the floor and melt whenever you dumped them out of the tray, comes the Ice Orb Icemaker. This state-of-the-art ice tray allows you to fill the oval shaped panels with water, freeze in your standard freezer, and remove the finished product without spilling any.
In fact, when you remove the ice from their little oval molds they will fall into a little bucket that makes it a snap to reach in and grab some ice. Plus, the oval shape of the cubes will make your guests take a second look at the coolest (no pun intended here) ice cubes that they have ever seen. Another nice feature of the Ice Orb Icemaker is the ability to leave the ice cubes in their little oval molds, and [...]
Atari Keychains With Builtin Games
Atari Keychains…well for some of us this would be ’nuff said, we would already be ordering. But, not all of us can recall the Atari systems so some need a bit more explaining to understand. Atari is da Bomb, that’s all I can really say. There is no reason to love the horrible graphics and poorly designed games that fit in bulky game consoles with like…2 foot controller cords…but we love Atari anyway..kind of like the first girl we ever…well you know…
These Atari keychains aren’t just for show…they actually allow you to carry classic Atari games in your pocket, and whenever you feel the need, plug your keychain controller into any television, and play your choice of Asteroids, Millipede, Pong, Breakout, Warlords, Yar’s Revenge and Centipede. It’s battery operated and comes with a plug you can use on any standard television with RCA plugs. So stop reminiscing and [...]

Wake Up And Fly
If you are one of those people – you know who you are – who has a difficult time waking up in the morning, and starting your day, then the Flying Alarm Clock is just what the doctor ordered. This is the most annoying device on the planet, but if you are determined to get up and go to work/school/ the gym on time, then this alarm clock will be your savior and friend.
It works rather simply, sounding a loud alarm when it’s time for you to wake up – but here’s the catch. When the alarm goes off, the little propeller will fly up out of its little base and zoom around your room and land somewhere. You won’t know where – it’s totally random. This means you’ll actually have to get up out of your bed and do a mad search for a tiny piece of plastic and [...]

Windows XP Is Still Cool
I know most of us are anxiously waiting for the final release of Windows 7 but Windows XP is still desktop king in the PC world. Windows XP does a whole slew of cool things that most people don’t know about, or haven’t explored fully, and the ease of use makes the end-user that is already familiar with Windows XP, unwilling to move on to Vista, or whatever the next incarnation of Bill Gates’ Brainchild will be called. We’ve tried to showcase the best ten, in no particular order here.
Run Multiple Programs Under Different Users: This is something that I discovered a few years ago while trying to run several audio streams to the web at once. Windows XP will allow you to login on several different users and open a brand new instance of a program you are trying to use. This way, you can use [...]
Build Yourself A Gadgety Thingee
If Steve Jobs or Steve Wozniak had one of these as a kid, we might have had the iPod ten years earlier. It’s the Electronics Workshop and it’s the greatest gift you could give to a kid that had circuits and diodes on the brain.
With 148 different experiments from a simple circuit to a lie detector your kids will learn how things work, while having fun at the same time – as the kit’s experiments are laid out using a robot in the year 2069 named Robert M-3 who is engaged in an apprenticeship on a giant space station that is orbiting earth. As he conducts experiments, under the expert tutelage of his mentor Sirius Armstrong, your child will be able to follow along and learn how to fix your most complicated electronic gadgets.
So, set your kids up with a toy that is actually educational and help them design experiments, [...]
