Onkyo Introduces 3D-Ready, THX-Certified HTIB

Thinking of upgrading to a new packaged home theater?  Future-proof your home entertainment setup with the Onkyo HT-S9300THX, the first HTIB that delivers both THX-certified audio and 3D-ready hardware.

Compatible with the mandatory formats for 3D broadcasts (Side-by-Side and Top-and-Bottom), you’re guaranteed state-of-the-art video without another upgrade, whichever way industry standards fall.  Onkyo claims it’s the first packaged system of its kind, designed for home theater enthusiasts who can’t be bothered with the hassle of picking out separate components to deck their THX-pumpin’, 3D-displayin’ multimedia rooms.

The Onkyo HT-S9300THX is made up of seven theater loudspeakers, a subwoofer for deep-bass sound effects and an AV receiver, designed to play nice with the snazziest HD and 3D hardware your paycheck can buy.  Features include four HDMI 1.4a inputs, HDMI-thru functionality, 3D pass-through capability, Dolby Prologic Iiz processing, 2EQ automatic speaker calibration, dynamic EQ and volume processing, compressed music optimization and 1080p analog upconversion.

Onkyo’s been consistently solid with their flagship line of HTIBs and there’s no reason to doubt this new 3D system isn’t going to deliver the same way.  We don’t understand the lack of an iPod dock (yes, a travesty), but we’ll take it.

Expect the Onkyo HT-S9300THX to land at the end of the month, priced at a respectable $1,099.
