Can-Am Commander 1000, A UTV Packing 85hp

Sure, the Can-Am Commander looks like a golf cart.  Packing a Rotax 1000R EFI engine busting out 85hp, though, you know damn well it can do more than offer a leisurely drive around the course.

Billed as the most powerful side-by-side vehicle in the market, the four-wheel drive off-roader brings a new level of power, handling and user-focused features that UTV fans are bound to drool over.  Not only does that 85hp sound insane for a recreational ride that looks like a golf cart, it also offers the best fuel efficiency in the industry, posting 39% better utilization over its closest rival.

The Can-Am Commander 1000 offers some serious off-road talents, boasting 11 inches of ground clearance, 1,500-lbs. of towing capacity, 240-watt lighting, a 650-watt magneto, a 10-gallon gas tank, 1,928 cubic inches of cockpit space, a dual-level cargo box (an industry exclusive) and an easy-to-use maintenance center.  Standard features include intelligent throttle control, double A-arm front suspension, TTI rear suspension, a 2-inch rear hitch receiver, adjustable-tilt steering, 12-inch wheels and a 2-inch diameter cage.

If you want to go even more baller, you can take a step up from the standard model with their two other offerings: the Commander 1000 X and the Commander 1000 XT.  Each model comes with a variety of upgrades, such as a 4,000-lb winch, larger aluminum-cast wheels, bed rails, mudguards and heavy-duty bumpers.

Pricing for the Can-Am Commander 1000 starts at $12,799, with the X package going for $14,699 and the XT for $14,299.  You can check out the full feature list from the company website.
