GSI Glacier Insulated Travel Stack Offers a Customizable Way to Keep Your Packed Lunch Warm

It looks like one of the dozens (or hundreds) of Thermos copycats over the years. You know, those large vacuum bottles you can fill up with hot soup, cold water, or hot coffee for taking to your outdoor adventures. And it works, pretty much, the same way. Except, the GSI Glacier Insulated Travel Stack is built with an organization system in mind, allowing you to use it to insulate different types of food and beverages in one go.

Designed to serve as a Thermos-style cooler, you can fill it with separate containers of different food items that it will insulate and keep warm until you’re ready to eat. It’s also sized to snugly fit standard-sized cans, so you can stash a couple of ice cold sodas inside that you can retrieve later when you need a cold drink.

The GSI Glacier Insulated Travel Stack is a four-piece set consisting of a cylinder-shaped vacuum sleeve that resembles one of those classic Thermos bottles, along with an 11-oz container and two 5-oz containers that can all stack on top of each other inside the sleeve. The idea is to fill up each container with food, soups, and whatever else, then store them on the sleeve to keep them warm (or cold, whichever the case may be) until it’s time to pop them out and consume them. The outfit is touting this as a perfect way to carry food and drinks on the go, whether for packing lunch at the office, a mid-hike meal on the trail, or a quick bite in the middle of a long drive.

The individual containers are made with translucent plastic, so you can see what’s inside at a glance, all while coming with airtight lids, so there will be no spills even if you don’t hold the sleeve upright during transit. Just make sure to screw those lids on tight every time, though, before putting them all in.

The GSI Glacier Insulated Travel Stack has a sleeve cast in vacuum-insulated stainless steel, so it should maintain temperature just as well as any of the similar products currently in the market. That means, hot food should stay warm and cold drinks should stay chill for a few hours at minimum, making it ideal for taking on day trips and other day-long affairs. It comes with a flexible silicone handle, giving you a way to comfortably carry it in hand, although it should also be easily removable, as well, in case you’d rather take it out and slip this thing inside a backpack instead.

The whole thing, with all the empty containers in tow, weigh just 20.5 ounces, while the sleeve itself measures 10.8 x 3.4 inches (height x diameter). At that size, it should two standard-sized beverage cans and taller drink bottles, so you can use it to keep drinks chilled. You should be able to use it with any combination of similarly-sized containers, too, so you can use it to insulate most any kind of food. Heck, you can get a hot sub at a fast food, slip it inside, and keep it warm for later. Very convenient.
