There’s no shortage of 3-in-1 chargers for Apple devices. You know… those charging hubs that can replenish your MagSafe-compatible iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch all at the same time. While the Line Linestand brings the same functionality, it adds a unique twist that allows you to set it up in ways other 3-in-1 Apple chargers just can’t manage.
You know how nearly every single 3-in-1 charger for Apple devices is designed to be set down on a flat surface, like a desk, shelf, or a nightstand? Well, you can do that with this, too, except it also comes with a VESA-compatible back panel that allows for more unique placements.
That’s right, the Line Linestand comes with a VESA attachment interface that allows you to mount it in any place where you will normally mount a TV or a monitor, eliminating the need to set it down on a desk like every other charging station. Got a VESA wall mount for an old TV you no longer use? You can put the Linestand there instead. How about a spare monitor arm on your desk? Yep, you can put it there, too. Basically, it can be affixed to any VESA mount you own, allowing you to create a floating charger that makes your devices look like they’re hovering on air while you replenish their battery for the day.
It consists of three rectangular pads – a large one in the middle and two smaller ones on each upper corner. You know… kinda like a Mickey Mouse head silhouette, albeit with a blockier styling. The large pad and the small left pad each have a slot that can accommodate a Magsafe Charger, while the small left pad has a slot for an Apple Watch Charging Puck. That’s right, it only has slots, as you’ll have to purchase the individual chargers separately. Once equipped, you’ve got yourself two Magsafe chargers for your iPhone 12, iPhone 13, or AirPods Pro, as well as a single charger for an Apple Watch.
While the Line Linestand’s design clearly isn’t the most space-efficient (or the most cost-effective), it is the best way to show off your charging devices when they’re affixed to a VESA mount, as it clearly shows off each device seemingly floating in midair, making them quite a sight to behold, whether you’ve got it set up on a wall mount, a stand, or a monitor arm. Mounting it a monitor arm seems to be the ideal setup, as you can easily move the charging station in any floating position on the desk, allowing you to easily use your iPhone while it’s charging, then move it completely out of the way as soon as you’re done.
Of course, the charging station can also be used without attaching to a VESA mount. In that case, you simply set it down on a flat surface and charge your devices lying down like a traditional charging pad, which, let’s be honest, defeats the accessory’s entire purpose.
