Nike Dunk NG Lets You Wear Basketball Kicks To The Golf Course

You love your Nike Dunks.  But basketball kicks aren’t exactly a functional fit when swinging at dimpled balls  in the green.  That was, until these Nike Dunk NG Golf Shoes showed up, which literally takes the classic basketball silhouette and infuses it with spikes on the soles.

A far cry from the funny-looking shoes that are normal fare for golf courses, they actually look like real sneakers.  You know, the kind you can pair with a funny t-shirt and your favorite jeans so you can dress casually while hitting five over par.  Yeah, you suck at Tiger Woods’ sport, but at least you don’t dress like a dweeb while doing it.

The Nike Dunk NG is basically the original lowtop Dunks, adapted to play nice on a mostly grassy playing field.  Instead of flat soles, it comes with seven sets of six-pronged spikes for allowing those blades of grass to move freely while you go about your business of sinking balls with your 33 in One Golf Club.

One downside: since they look like regular casual shoes, we’re guessing you’ll occasionally put them on by mistake at home.  The good news: the spikes are plastic (soft), so they’ll only do a Level 5 damage on your carpet and flooring (compared to a Level 9 with those old pointy metal thingies).

Five colorways will be available when the Nike Dunk NG hits stores in the Spring — white/black court green; white/soar black; white/granite black; white/safety orange; and midnight fog/prism blue.  Pricing is expected at $150.
