If you love Godzilla, you probably already own your fair share of the most famous kaiju’s innumerable figures through the years. What you’ve probably never owned, though, is a buildable Godzilla you can cobble together using construction bricks. That’s exactly what you’re getting with the LEGO Ideas Godzilla.
That’s right, it’s a real, official Godzilla model from LEGO and it’s a beast. Standing over two feet tall, this is officially LEGO’s biggest creature model ever, which is only fitting for the one and only King of the Monsters.

The LEGO Ideas Godzilla takes the likeness of the creature as it appears on Legendary’s MonsterVerse Godzilla, so it resembles the onscreen monster from movies like Godzilla vs Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. It recreates the creatures shape, character, and massive size really well, too, as this looks like an absolutely terrifying behemoth. They took a lot of characteristic elements of Godzilla and translated it into brick form pretty well, such as the scaly skin, the luminous jagged dorsal fins, and the segmented tail, making it easily identifiable at first glance. Suffice to say, no one’s mistaking this Godzilla for a prehistoric Jurassic Park dinosaur any time soon.
Even better, you can build it with the tail either pointed to the left or the right, with both builds possible using the same parts. It’s articulated, too, with adjustable head, arms, wrists, and fingers, allowing you to put Godzilla in a variety of fighting poses. Plus, you can probably make it carry some of your smaller LEGOs to make it look like Gojira is wreaking havoc on your poor LEGO city. It comes with two inserts for its mouth: a tongue for when you want to make it look like it’s about to bite someone and a heat ray when it’s about to torch the New York City Skyline into a pile of ashes.

The LEGO Ideas Godzilla doesn’t come with minifigs, since there’s no point adding minifigs that, let’s be honest, it will probably just step on while rampaging through your tabletop’s city streets. It’s very gray, which, we have to admit, is kind of dull for a Godzilla. Fortunately, they made it so that its dorsal fins glow blue just like those times when it’s charging up to unleash its frightening atomic energy breath. At least, the blue gives it a bit of color. We do wish they incorporated some of the blue glow at various parts of its body, which we have seen in some sculpts of the MonsterVerse version of the creature. That would have given it a bit more pop.

When posed with its head looking up at the sky, the model stands a whopping 27.5 inches tall, making it a gargantuan addition to any display case. It comes with 5,363 pieces, by the way, so this should make for an engaging build, whether you like Godzilla or just want to put together LEGO monsters. Early buyers, by the way, will get a free Godzilla footprint with a logo of its name, which is available while supplies last. Oh yeah, the free stuff looks buildable, too, which is probably a bit simple but fun.
The LEGO Ideas Godzilla comes out November 27th, priced at $449.99.
