BBQ Dragon Readies Your Charcoal Grill 4X Faster

The more convenient the grill, the less it’s able to produce that smoky flavor in your favorite barbecue dishes.  As such, charcoal grills remain a popular option among the grilling faithful.  If you’d like to spare yourself some of the usual hassles that come when cooking on your Fold Flat Grill, though, the BBQ Dragon can help.

By far, the biggest problem with charcoal grills is just how darn long they can take to start up.  It’s not uncommon, in fact, to wait a full 45 minutes from setting up the grill to getting it hot enough to actually start cooking your burgers and steaks.  This contraption remedies that by offering a way to quickly light up the grill, cutting down your waiting time to as short as ten minutes.

The BBQ Dragon is a fire-starting tool sized for handheld use, making it very portable for bringing along during tailgates and parties.  It runs on AA batteries, too, so you don’t need to find a place to plug in to use it.  For convenience, it comes with an integrated clipping mechanism that lets you attach it to the sides of grills, tables and other fixtures for hands-free use (just clip it on somewhere and use the adjustable neck to aim it at the grill).

“Faster than a chimney” — that’s how fast the tool will supposedly light charcoals up on fire.  Even better, it does that without the use of lighter fluid or complex heating mechanisms.  Instead, it performs the feat by blowing cool air at the fire, feeding it high amounts of oxygen that accelerate the burning process.  Beyond grills, the contraption should also work to speed up setting campfires and fireplaces aflame.

Currently, the BBQ Dragon is an ongoing project on Kickstarter.  Pledges to reserve one starts at $42.
