Few mythical sea creatures have captured the imagination of fiction writers through the years than the kraken, having been featured in literary works since the 1800s, films from way back in the silent era, and countless video games. And while you can’t exactly summon a giant cephalopod to rise in your cubicle at work, this Tentacle Mug will let you convoke its monster baby out of your morning coffee.
Designed to look like there’s an octopus rising from inside the mug, it features tentacles that appear like they’re slithering out of the hot beverage. We’re not entirely sure what the tentacles are supposed to be doing, so we’re just going to assume it’s something nefarious like squeezing your coffee mug so it breaks and spills all the coffee over your keyboard (it doesn’t know you have a Washable Keyboard, so you’ll still have the last laugh).
One of the tentacles even conveniently bends at a perpendicular angle to the Tentacle Mug, allowing you to use it as a handle while taking sips of your drink. Fortunately, the tentacles aren’t slimy (my guess is coffee washes out the slime from cephalopods), so you don’t have to wrap your hands around anything wet and slippery. It measures 3.5 inches in diameter and 4 inches in height, with the capacity to hold up to 15 ounces of liquid. And just in case you need to use it with a microwave, baby kraken are, apparently, clad in ceramic, rendering them safe to use in microwaves, so there should be no problem.
